Top 5 Nepal Mountain Biking Tours
Most people think of trekking in Nepal when they think of outdoor adventures, but did you know that mountain biking is the sport that is growing the fastest in this amazing country?
In the beginning, there were only a few bikers, and they all knew each other. They rode together every weekend to explore the Kathmandu Valley and sometimes went on longer trips. Now, the biking scene has grown to the point where on any given Saturday you can see people riding everything from flashy new bikes to old iron horses, but they all want to enjoy the freedom and fun of a great ride.
Nepal's biking scene is changing quickly, but the trails are very old and there are so many of them that it's hard to keep track. No one knows how many kilometers of trails are out there waiting to be found. The whole country is full of walking trails that have been worn down by generations of people walking across the valley or across the country to trade, attend festivals, or visit family.
Some of our favorite places to ride are rugged and truly wild, with no easy way "out." Others are close to town and offer almost endless ways to ride, from a day to a week or more, in fancy hotels or roughing it in tea houses or camping.
It's hard to know where to start when there are so many options, so here are our top 5 mountain biking tours in Nepal.
